Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Trading Specialist to manage end-to-end procurement activities across a range of commodities. The ideal candidate will lead sourcing initiatives, tendering, negotiating high-value contracts, and building strong supplier relationships while ensuring alignment with company policies, procedures, cost objectives and operational goals.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement commodity procurement strategies that align with company goals and budget.
Manage end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, RFQs/RFPs/ITTs, vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and order placement.
Analyse market trends and supplier performance to ensure the best quality and value.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead initiatives to improve purchasing efficiency.
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legal requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., finance, logistics, operations) to align purchase plans with business needs.
Develop Commodity sourcing and relevant strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
Support Commodity Trading team in their role of commodity trading.
Negotiate with suppliers and constantly review contracts to secure advantageous contractual terms.
Promote a culture of long-term saving on commodity costs.
Prepare purchase plans and make relevant reporting on results.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Professional certifications such as CIPS, PMP are desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
2-3 years of experience in procurement and supply, preferably in a mid to large-sized company and preferably a year in a senior or strategic role.
Proven track record of managing complex sourcing projects and supplier negotiations.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Language skills: Azerbaijani (native), English (B2), Russian (B2).
Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, 1C) and outlook.
Deep understanding of supplier evaluation, risk management, and cost analysis.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, in high-stress and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Qualifications (Must):
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, Procurement, Economics, Finance or a related field.
Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, 1C) and Microsoft Office suite.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
Language skills: Azerbaijani (native), English (B2), Russian (B2).
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
